You’re Not Too Old to Birth What God Promised: Sarah’s Laughter Turns to Life

She laughed not out of disrespect, but out of disbelief.
Could it really happen now, after so many silent years?
Yet Heaven had never been late; only our hearts often forget how timeless God’s promises are.

When Sarah first heard the promise, it sounded impossible. A son? At her age? With a body long past its prime and dreams she had quietly buried?

She had done what many of us do she learned to live without the thing she once begged God for.
She learned to survive with a smile, even while carrying silent disappointments deep within.
Hope was a dangerous thing when it was delayed better to tuck it away than risk heartbreak again.

But God didn’t forget.

He came back for the very thing Sarah thought was finished.
He came back for the buried dreams, the private prayers, the secret heartaches she dared not even utter aloud anymore.

And He laughed too but not the way she did.
He laughed with the joy of fulfillment, the certainty that His Word could not return void.
He laughed because the story was never dependent on Sarah’s strength, but on His own faithfulness.

In Genesis 18:14, the Lord asked a question that echoes through generations:

“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”

The answer was sealed in Sarah’s womb, in the impossible promise growing inside her despite the ticking clock of human logic.

And it’s sealed in your life too.

You are not too old.
You are not too late.
You are not forgotten.

If God said it if Heaven declared it then age, time, delay, doubt, or even your own laughter cannot cancel it.

He specializes in making dead things live again.
He specializes in breathing life into dry bones, opening barren places, and proving every naysayer — even the one in your own mirror — wrong.

Sarah’s laughter was real.
But so was her Isaac.
And when she finally held him in her arms, her laughter was no longer disbelief it was delight.

It’s not too late for you either.
Get ready to laugh again this time, with pure, unshakable joy.

Reflection

What promises have you quietly tucked away because it felt like “too much time” had passed?
What parts of your heart have learned to “live without” instead of continuing to believe?

Could it be… that Heaven still remembers what you tried to forget?

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You that Your promises are not bound by time, age, or human limitation.
Resurrect the dreams I’ve buried, and restore my hope to believe again.
Help me to laugh with faith, not disbelief, and to prepare my heart for the miracle You are still birthing in my life.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
