The Storm Didn’t Break Me, It Birthed My Praise
She survived what should have drowned her.
She worshiped while still soaking wet.
The storm did not take her voice. It gave her a new one.
Have you ever been in a season that came out of nowhere?
One minute you are building momentum, and the next, everything crashes.
That is what this storm felt like.
Sudden.
Unfair.
Ruthless.
But here is what I learned in the middle of it:
God does not waste storms.
They are not always sent to break you.
Sometimes they are allowed to reveal you.
Because sometimes the loudest hallelujah rises while the thunder is still rolling.
Not after the clouds part.
Not after the check clears.
Not after everything makes sense.
But right in the middle of the mess.
I had to learn to praise before the rescue.
To worship before the explanation.
To thank God for His nearness, not just His answers.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you.”
— Isaiah 43:2
The enemy did not just want to shake my circumstances.
He wanted to steal my sound.
He wanted the storm to silence my faith,
to choke my worship,
to make me believe that pain had the final word.
But something in me rose up and said,
“No. This storm is going to birth a new song.”
And that is exactly what happened.
I did not just survive.
I praised my way through.
And on the other side, I found something better than resolution.
I found revelation.
I found out that God was always with me.
Even in the winds.
Even when I could not stop crying.
Even when I wanted to give up.
Even when I did not understand what He was doing.
That is the kind of God He is.
He does not have to stop the storm to prove Himself.
He steps into it and walks with you until you come out stronger, wiser, and bolder than you were before it ever began.
And sometimes the greatest miracle is not that the storm ended quickly.
It is that your praise survived it.
Reflection
💭 What storm did you think was sent to destroy you?
💭 Look again. Could it have been Heaven’s invitation to deeper praise?
💭 What if the season that soaked you is the very season that is teaching you how to sing again?
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for walking with me through the storm.
When the winds blew, You did not leave.
When the nights were long, You stayed near.
And when I felt like I had nothing left to give, You gave me strength I did not know I had.
Today I choose praise over panic.
I declare that what was sent to break me will now build my testimony.
Let every tear, every moment of pain, and every sleepless night become seed in the ground.
And let my praise be the harvest.
Birth something new in me, Lord.
Birth a deeper fire.
A stronger faith.
A louder worship that no storm can silence.
Teach me not to wait for calm skies before I glorify You.
Teach me to honor You in the wind, trust You in the rain, and worship You while the waves are still rising.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
