Alignment Before Assignment

Scripture

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3, ESV)

Devotional Thought

Many of us ask God to bless plans we never surrendered. But Scripture teaches that establishment comes after commitment. God is not opposed to planning, vision, or ambition. He is opposed to independence. When our work is placed in His hands first, He refines the motive, redirects the path, and strengthens the outcome. Alignment before assignment protects us from striving and invites God’s wisdom into every decision we make.

Prayer

Father, I bring my plans, goals, and responsibilities before You today. Before I move ahead, I pause to place them fully in Your hands. I release my need to control outcomes, timelines, and recognition.

Search my heart, Lord. If any motive is rooted in fear, pride, or self-reliance, cleanse it. Align my desires with Your will and my steps with Your truth. Let the work of my hands flow from obedience, not pressure.

Teach me to trust You with both the process and the results. Establish what is from You, remove what is not, and give me peace as I walk forward in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declarations

I commit my work to the Lord, and He establishes my steps.
My plans are surrendered, purified, and guided by God.
I do not strive in my own strength. I walk in divine alignment.
God orders my steps with wisdom and clarity.
