Surrendering Control
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5, NIV)
Devotional Thought
Control often feels like safety, but Scripture teaches that true security comes from trust. When we lean on our own understanding, we limit God’s ability to lead us beyond what we can see. Surrender is not weakness. It is faith in action. Trusting God means releasing the need to figure everything out and choosing to rest in His wisdom instead of our own.
Prayer
Father, I confess that I often try to manage outcomes instead of trusting You fully. Today,
I release my grip on what I cannot control. I surrender my worries, plans, and unanswered questions into Your hands.
Teach me to trust You with my whole heart. When I feel uncertain, remind me that You see what I cannot see. Lead me in paths of peace, not pressure. I choose faith over fear and obedience over anxiety. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Declarations
I trust the Lord with all my heart.
I do not lean on my own understanding.
God directs my steps with wisdom and clarity.
Peace guards my heart as I surrender control.
