The Blessing of Samuel (1 Samuel 12:23–25)
The Words Spoken (1 Samuel 12:23–25)
“Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way. Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.”
What this blessing reveals about God
God is merciful with people who repent. Samuel shows that intercession is not optional. He calls it sin to stop praying for them. This reveals God’s heart: He corrects, but He also covers. He warns, but He also guides.
What this blessing speaks over us today
This is a word for families, nations, and homes that are drifting. The answer is not panic. The answer is prayer, truth, and remembrance. Samuel tells them to “consider what great things He has done.” When you remember God’s faithfulness, you regain your footing.
Prayer
Father, put prayer back in my mouth and truth back in my heart. Teach me the good and the right way. Help me to serve You in truth with my whole heart. Where I have drifted, bring me back. Where my household needs covering, make me faithful in intercession. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Declarations
I will not stop praying.
I will serve the Lord in truth with my whole heart.
I will remember the great things God has done.
My life is being realigned by the Spirit of God.
