A Prayer for Identity and Self-Worth
The world starts forming an opinion about you before you are old enough to argue with it.
What you look like. What your family looked like. What happened to you. What you did. What was done to you. And after enough years of absorbing those messages, most women do not even realize they have been living inside a definition of themselves that God never wrote.
Today that changes.
You do not need to earn what God has already declared. You do not need to perform for love that was settled before the foundation of the world.
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9
A Prayer for Identity and Self-Worth Lord, the world has spent years telling me who I am based on what I look like, what I have done, and what I have been through. Today I reject every lie and I return to the source. You called me chosen. You called me beloved. You called me fearfully and wonderfully made and what You made, You do not regret. I will no longer shrink to make others comfortable. I will no longer perform for love You have already freely given. I know whose I am and because of that, I know who I am. Amen.
